Santoshpur AgantukA message was received that the students of Student Academy, Boral were facing problem due to the small classroom. The fact was due to the small classroom the difference between black board and benches were less and the dust of chalk was creating an irritation even infection to the eyes of the student. We decided to protect the eyes of future and 32 White Board and accessories were donated by Santoshpur Agantuk in 2014.
2nd April, 2014 was a glorious day in the History of Santoshpur Agantuk as we observed World Autism Day at National Library with around 30 Schools for Special Child, this observation was happened first time in Kolkata and we the Santoshpur Agantuk did it and then we decided to enhance our work towards the special children. That needed a proper affiliation, so our President Ms. Swarnali Pal took step and with the influence of our Secretary Mr. Arijit Mukherjee the training conference of Action for Autism was attended by our President to be a part of the University of California and Los Angeles and she enlisted her name as a PEER Educator and specialized herself in Colour Therapy.
After the grand success of the observation of World Autism Day the Director of National Library PY Rajendrakumar invited us to arrange an event on Children’s Day based on Swachata Abhiyan. The event organized on 14th November, 2014, we invited many of the schools from all over West Bengal and around 1000 children cleaned the road and it became Baal Swachata Abhiyan.
The prior target of Santoshpur Agantuk is to bring the Special Children into the mainstream of the society and that is why we organized a Summer Camp in May 2015 to June 2015 with 32 Special Children from 3 schools – Behala Bodhayan, Mobility India and Maintaid and to bring the smile on the face of these children we arranged this event named Ek Rashi Hashi.
We enhanced the total matter into a 100 hours training session named Unmesh after selecting 15 children from the Summer Camp to bring more light into the life of them. In this event, the Special Children made Greetings Card and Note Pad which were sent to the different organizations and our Well Wishers to spread the work of these children.
We extended this journey with art form of painting and dance with a Workshop of Ek Rashi Hasi Alifar Khushi with the Special Children and to establish our prior target by showcasing the bright face of Alifa who was trained by Ms. Swarnali Pal and also this was as the unification of three generations what we did.
In the Special moment of Durga Puja in 2018 Santoshpur Agantuk tried to be a smile of 28 children from the slum area of Jadavpur. To inspire the 1st generation learner we donated clothes among 28 children and then we arranged a visit to the puja pandal to find out thye best puja by their eyes.
In 2016 we felt the importance of cultural development among the Deaf & Dumb children and we arranged a Drama Competition consisting 10 Specially Abled School to show the world or society that a world in our world is moving without sound and words but a full of expression. We organized Hindol a drama competition at Golpark Ramkrishna Mission to glorify the beauty of silence and we carried the legacy of the purpose and organized Hindol 2 in 2017 at Maulali Yuva Kendra
Santoshpur Agantuk organized Art Festival at Khanan Hooghly to enhance the interest of art among the student in collaboration with Upadhay Bharamba Bandhab Smriti Pathagar. Then we made calendar by the painting of the students and launched the calender at press club to inspire the children regarding art.
To mark the 150 th Birth Centenary of Mahatma Gandhi, on 2nd October, 2018; Agantuk, Santoshpur, organised an interschool completion. This was held on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata, with the participation of students of 84 schools from Kolkata and West Bengal.
Competition was organised in the fields of drawing, drama, dance, essay writing and precise writing.
Ms Thankamani Kutty, veteran dancer, Mr Tamal Roychowdhury, Mr. Tarak Garai, noted painter, Ms Poushali Mukherjee, Ms Malabika Sen, Ms Somasree Ghosh, Mr. Somnath Kutty, Mr. Abhijit Dasgupta, Mr Samir Sarkar, Mr Subrata Das, Mr Abhijnan Sengupta, Mr Ujjwal Bhattacharya, Mr Bipradas Bhattacharjee and Ms Swarnali Pal had graced the occasion with their presence. To boost the cultural value among the students and also the parents we organized 25shey Shraban – an inter-school short drama competition, we organized this event at Aban Mahal in 2016, at ICCR in 2017 and at Gyan Manch in 2018
